  • Kayla

    Veterinary Technician
Kayla began working with animals through her local animal shelter in 2010, and was shocked at the number of animals relinquished specifically because of perceived behavioral problems. In 2013, she attended the Karen Pryor Academy for Animal Training and Behavior and began to work with various local rescue groups' fearful, anxious and aggressive dogs and cats in earnest. She quickly realized how intertwined behavior and medicine are, and set forth to begin a career in veterinary medicine. At home, she lives with her three dogs, Liam, Nova, and Zen; her cat, Scully; and her leopard gecko, Smaug. Bully breeds and their mixes have a special place in her heart. When she's not at work, Kayla is teaching her dogs lots of fun tricks and spending time hiking with them in Florida's wilderness.
